How the free keyword snapshot works
Methodology
The free snapshot sends the submitted topic or domain label, seed type and country to an estimated keyword provider. That provider is allowed to return only a keyword phrase, one of four demand bands, one of three difficulty bands and one of four intent categories. The response parser ignores extra fields and the service nulls exact search volume, difficulty, CPC and trend values before the result reaches this page.
This separation is intentional. A language model can help expand a topic and classify likely intent, but it cannot measure search volume from its own knowledge. The free table is therefore an ideation artifact with categorical estimates. It is not presented as a replacement for a live keyword database.
Free estimates and live data
The free tier gives you a shortlist without requiring an email. Every row carries the estimated source, and the page never fills redacted columns with invented precision. Use it to explore vocabulary, comparison angles, questions and commercial variations around a topic.
If the shortlist is worth validating, the email gate runs one live search data task. A connected data source can return measured search volume and keyword difficulty plus CPC, intent and monthly trend data where available. Live values come from the data source response and are shown separately from the free estimates.
How to choose ideas
Start with relevance before volume. Mark the phrases that describe a problem your product solves, a comparison your buyer makes or a question your team can answer with original evidence. Group close variations into one page instead of creating thin pages for every phrase. Then validate the strongest group with measured data and inspect the current search results before committing production time.
Intent should shape the asset. Informational queries often need a tutorial, definition or research-backed answer. Commercial queries may suit comparison and alternative pages. Transactional queries need a clear product or service path. Navigational queries usually depend on an existing brand or destination, so they are rarely a good acquisition target for another site.
Limitations
Free bands are estimates and can be wrong. Domain mode does not crawl the site, country selection does not change the English language setting, and the tool does not inspect live search results, seasonality, your ranking authority or existing content. Validate decisions that require significant time or budget with measured data and direct search result research.
Frequently asked questions
Is the free keyword snapshot based on real search volume?
No. The free tier uses an estimated provider for keyword ideas and categorical bands. Exact volume, keyword difficulty and CPC are deliberately redacted, and the source label states that the result is directional.
What is the difference between topic and domain mode?
Topic mode expands a phrase into related ideas, questions, comparisons and purchase-adjacent searches. Domain mode infers ideas from the domain text. The free provider does not crawl or inspect the website.
How many keyword ideas does the tool generate?
The public endpoint returns up to 15 distinct ideas. The actual count can be lower if the provider does not return enough valid, non-duplicate rows.
What do the demand and difficulty bands mean?
They are directional categories for relative demand and competition, not measured numbers. Use them to sort an initial brainstorm, then validate important targets with live data and your own search performance.
What does the emailed keyword report include?
It runs one live search data lookup for the submitted topic or domain. The report includes measured search volume and keyword difficulty, with CPC, intent and trend fields when the data source returns them.
Can keyword estimates guarantee traffic?
No. A keyword idea can still be irrelevant, too competitive or poorly matched to your product. Traffic depends on search intent, content quality, authority, indexing, rankings and the demand that exists when you publish.
