Add your site to TimeToPost

If your blog engine, community or niche network has an API, people can schedule posts to it from TimeToPost, next to their other accounts. You add it yourself with one pull request and a JSON file.

How to add yours

  1. Copy the template

Fork the repository and copy integrations/_template. You describe your API in manifest.json: where a post is sent, which fields it takes, and how a user proves the key works.

  2. Link to TimeToPost

Add a followed link to https://timetopost.co on a public page of your site, such as your integrations or partners page. CI fetches that page and checks the link.

  3. Add tests and open a pull request

tests.json lists the exact request you expect and a sample response. CI runs them with no network, validates the format, then a maintainer reads the adapter.

  4. Get listed

Once merged and shipped, your site appears under Settings, Accounts, Community with your logo and a link, and people can schedule posts to it.

The full format is in CONTRIBUTING.md. Already a user? Find these under Settings, Accounts.

Questions

Do I need to write code?

No. An adapter is a JSON description of one HTTPS request. The format has no way to run code, so there is nothing to host or deploy on our side.

Which sites can be added?

Any site with an HTTP API that creates a post using a key or token your users can copy. That covers most blog engines, self-hosted communities and niche networks. A site where each user runs their own copy works too: the user enters their own address.

Can adapters post images or video?

Not yet. Community adapters publish text and Markdown. Image and video attachments are not part of the format.

What happens to the link requirement over time?

A nightly job re-checks every listing. If the link is gone, the maintainer has 14 days to restore it before the listing is removed.

What does my listing link to?

Your own site. Because listings are submitted by contributors, that link carries rel="nofollow ugc". What you get is the listing and the people who find you through it.

How are users' keys protected?

Keys are encrypted at rest and only ever sent in the one header the adapter names, to the one host it names. Internal addresses are refused, redirects are not followed, and an adapter cannot place a key in a URL or a body.

Can a merged adapter change TimeToPost right away?

No. TimeToPost ships a reviewed copy pinned to one commit, and the adapter is checked again when the server starts.
